Cannondale SM 900 | 663
Cannondale's top model from 1987. With a geometry that was progressive for its time: high bottom bracket, relatively long, sloping top tube and short stem.
The modern oversized look is still limited to just the frame. The much skinnier fork is made of steel Tange tubing.
Also new are the Deore XT M730 gears from Shimano, the first with 6-speed indexing.
