Funk | 476

(From Ernie Frieke's site bikeboosting.nl)

The name comes from the American builder Daryl Funk who made this frame from 6061 T6 aluminum with a very fat down tube, 50mm. It was the first aluminum frame with a raised rear triangle.

Made in Lakewood, Colorado

This bike was bought by a friend of mine in 1991 at Bike Tuning Holland in the Clarestraat in Den Bosch. Then owner Jan Gruyters completed it with Suntour XC Pro

I got this bike a year ago and refurbished the frame as best I could and fitted it with a 1992 Shimano XT groupset.
