Muddy Fox Explorer DeLuxe | 455

S&G Cycles of London came up with the brand name Muddy Fox in 1982. It was the brand that introduced the mountain bike to the UK and Europe.

This Explorer Deluxe is an example of the first Muddy Fox series and dates from 1984. It is a classic example of a primeval mountain bike, with a long frame, wide handlebars and a, for the time, sophisticated setup with triple crankset, cantilever brakes and sealed bearings. This was the model of choice for the “In the Footsteps of Scott South Pole Expedition 1984-86” making it the first bicycle to set tyre on Antarctica.
